Me the House Manager a.k.a. Domestic Engineer

  • When asked this question:
    "Are you working?"
Most ladies without an office job, staying at home looking after the kids might say...
"No I'm not working. I'm only a housewife.."
    But not me!
    I will answer:
"Yes I'm working. I'm working at home. Taking care of the whole family and attending to their needs. I'm a House Manager" or in some cases I would say "I'm a Domestic Engineer".
I know my answer might irritate a few. But I think what I'm doing is more than a job. So I don't really care what others would think about my answer. Its a fact!

      • Norlaili Osman Kak kyn, my answer would be a bit longer than yours. I will explain my job in details. I am the driver, chef, cleaner, nanny, cikgu tuition merangkap ustazah ant etc etc. I doubt that money or salary can pay all my duties but I believe in His promises, whatever I did for the sake of His Blessings then I should have no worries :-)

      • Siti Sakinah Meor Omar Please don't get me wrong. I m not comparing working-outside-the house-mothers with working-inside-the-house mothers. Mothers like Nel Eusoph and Norasiah Mohammad contribute far more than mothers like me. You can work outside yet can manage inside the house just as well and sometimes better. What I want to say is to all so called 'housewifes' don't feel like ur nothing coz you dont have a job outside. You should be proud of who you are and still contribute in the area that you can.

      • Siti Sakinah Meor Omar Btw.. House managers sometimes get paid, sometimes not. It depends. But they still do their jobs anyway coz Allahs reawards still awaits her.

      • Sheryda Abdullah No retirement date for House Manager. Only retires when she's laid in peace. Semuga Allah merahmati para ibu.
